Quantum Computation: Hopes and Struggles

This article, written during my studies at Imperial College London, reflects on the state of quantum computation — balancing the optimism around near-term breakthroughs with the practical roadblocks facing hardware, error correction, and applications. The piece was awarded a 2nd Year Quantum Article Prize for being engaging, thought-provoking, and for effectively communicating complex technical concepts from our Quantum Physics module.
